About Us
At Florida Neurology Clinics, P.A., Dr. Obi Francis Okonkwo-Onuigbo MD, FAAN, is affectionately known by his patients as Dr. Obi. He has been serving the Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, and St. Petersburg area for more than 25 years. His care is defined by compassion and dedication.
Dr. Obi is double fellowship trained and board certified. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, and his neurology training reflects one of the best pedigrees in the field.
Neuromuscular Disease
Trained under Jerry Mendel, MD, who trained Richard Barohn, MD, who in turn trained Dr. Obi in a one-on-one fellowship.
Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease
Trained under Louis Caplan, MD, who trained Scott Silliman, MD, who in turn trained Dr. Obi in a one-on-one fellowship.
Dr. Obi completed his prime residency at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV/VCU) in Richmond, known as the epilepsy mecca of America.
